Gourmet Coffee Tour
Did you know almost all of San José was a coffee plantation once? Let us share with you the history of this delicious beverage for our economy.
Since the coffee export was so important for the economic development of Costa Rica and specially San JoseĢ, this tour aims to share with you the history of coffee in our town and talk about the different gourmet coffee production areas, the particularities of each one of them and the factors that affect those properties. We will also learn three different infusion methods, while we sample a different one in each cafe visited.
We'll meet in front of the National Theater, we'll take a glance at this magnificent building and talk about what it meant for our society in the XIX century. From there we'll walk the city narrating the story of a coffee plantation that became a country's capital. We'll visit three caffeterias where a barista will explain us how to prepare a proper cup of coffee, we'll also learn about infusion methods and talk about the different production regions we have in Costa Rica.
